Tulsa, Ok.

Each spring we travel to Tulsa Ok. so my wife can get the plants she needs for all the gardens. She loves this nursery, mostly because it is owned by someone she watches on HGTV. I take advantage of the opportunity to photograph different parts of Tulsa. This year I picked Woodward Park and Boston St.

Woodward park is located close to the intersection of Peoria and Rockford street. It host a botanical garden and arboretum on its 45 acres. The park is known for its roses and tulips, they each have their own large gardens, but also host some of the cities best displays of iris, dogwood and azaleas. Helen Woodward was the original owner of the property and is the namesake of the beautiful park. We enjoyed the park so much. It has a running stream that is powered by pumps, the water runs through the gardens and into a splendid Koi pond. The whole area is breathtaking. My wife loves flower gardens almost as she does horses, while I enjoy the beauty of a well built garden.

We found this man hand feeding squirrels, it was amazing to watch, after getting the food, the squirrel would run off and another would replace it. Woodward Park Tulsa, Ok.

During the first 30 years of the 1900 Tulsa was the “talk of the town” in the oil industry. Tulsa was at the top of the oil business and business was good. Bostan avenue was the heart of the oil district downtown. Here are a few highlights we saw as we walked among these giant buildings.
