Florida 2022-Day 1
For many years we travel to Florida during Christmas break, it is a nice time to recharge the batteries after a long semester. Our landing spot this year was Destin. It is a favorite destination for Ozarkers, I can only assume because it is the first beach spot in Florida. It did not disappoint, we had a wonderful time enjoying the beauty of the area. We love to shell, which we spent several days collecting some wonderful shells. When we were not shelling, we went to some locations that allowed the camera to take center stage.
One of our trips was to Gulfarium Marine Park (located on Ft. Walton Beach) and the Pier on Okaloosa Island. Gulfarium was an incredible experience, it had a large collection of tanks with a wide variety of animals to enjoy. The pier was beautiful, as you can see in the photo. It was a warm sunny day and the wildlife was in full force. The dolphin show was amazing (what dolphin show isn’t). The show came with much discussion from the handlers about the dolphins management and life process, which I enjoyed. Based on the conversation from the family in front of us, their boys only concern was “can we get in with them”. The collection of photos are of the birds and dolphins (lots of dolphins pics) at the two locations.

After we were done enjoying the sights that were held within the Gulfarium, we ventured out to the Pier on Okaloosa Island (Fort Walton Beach). here we saw many aquatic based birds. The birds were used to humans feeding them, so many posed very nicely for the camera.
